Opened in January 1984, Terminal 1 (T1) of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) has 14 gates between Gates 9, 11A, 11B, 12A, 12B, 13–16, 17A, 17B, 18A, and 18 B. The terminal is the primary hub for Southwest Airlines. Baggage Claim at Terminal 1
The baggage claim is located on the lower level of the arrival level at Terminal 1 of LAX. It was recently upgraded in 2018 that handle more traffic than before.
Passengers after arriving at Terminal 1 must follow the signage to the Baggage Claim. After you complete the process of passport control and customs & Immigration, head to the claim area.

Lost and Found at Terminal 1
Reach out to the Lost and Found office at the departure area of Terminal 1. Follow these steps:
- You may be asked to fill out a form and submit a claim about an item.
